Management and Consulting
Robert Pickering and the OarFin staff have over 30 years experience in the music industry. Contact us regarding the launch your next project, setting up your new label, managing your band, shopping your music to major labels, publishers and other forms of music licensing. Here are just a few of our accomplishments in the past three years.
Julianna Raye: Worked with Julianna on the release of her independent CD “Restless Nights” (produced by Ethan Johns). Bob and Julianna worked together to build relationships with Don Henley, who invited Julianna on tour with him in late 2002 and again for the summer of 2004. Julianna co-wrote and sang the vocals with Michael Kamen for “Holding all my Love for You” on the Kevin Costner, Robert Duvall movie Open Range in August of 2003. Put together a showcase at the Hotel Café in the summer of 2003 for Julianna that secured management with Miki Nord of the UTR Music Group. This partnership then led to a New York showcase for a number of labels including Al Cafaro’s new venture Hybrid Recordings who have just reissued “Restless Night” with “Holding all my love for you” as a feature track. All of that going on Julianna is only the beginning for this multi-talented artist. Julianna has also become a top jewelry design with her collection featured across the US and Europe. Good luck to Julianna! www.juliannaraye.com
Jessica Jacobs: Jessica is currently managed by Bob Pickering and this former Hollywood Records artist is in the middle of tracking demo’s with producer Brynn Arens (Flipp, The F-up’s, Katie Neil) for label shopping in the coming months. Recently Jessica has had her songs appear in such movies as the new Julia Stiles romantic comedy “the Prince and Me’ along with past appearances in “the Wedding Planner”, “ten things I hate about you” and many others.
Seven Nations: As one of the top celtic rock bands for the past 10 years Seven Nations continues to tour the US up to 200 dates a year. Recently the band has been doing special concerts with various symphonies around the country that have met with sold out theatre’s. Currently working on a new CD and in pursuit of publishing for the music catalog.
Takeover Records: Independent Label started by Ben Harper (Yellowcard) and Greg McDonald has released early works from Yellowcard and new CD’s from Stole Your Women, Hey Mike, Craig’s Brother and a 3 Way Compilation. OarFin management and consulting team has worked with the label developing marketing and promotional concepts to help establish the labels brand. Recent success includes a Takeover Merchandise tent that is shared with Yellowcard at the 2004 Vans Warped Tour. A contest with Pure Volume.com that will allow one band to get a label deal with Takeover and open for Yellowcard in 2005 at one show. Contests and promotions with many other punk oriented websites and mentions for the label on many websites including MTV and MTV.com
